Rainbow blanket update

This is what it looks like so far.

Latest WIP - Business Casual socks

I think my husband really needs a lovingly made pair of handmade socks. I've only made him one other pair. He is a very good man and I'm very lucky to have him. These are made with my treasured Wollmeise in Resi colourway.

A gift for me!

The upside to husbeast travelling overseas leaving me at home with my 3yr old and 6yr old while 35 weeks pregnant:

Waterkant Socks ... finished!

Finished and I really like them. Very effective in their multi colourway.

Waterkant

I have this naughty skein of WD Sultan that would not play nicely no matter what I tried. Then I saw this Waterkant pattern and thought "Yes!". And it worked out really well. It's worked on a similar principal as the Strandwanderer which I really enjoyed knitting.

Of course I had to change it to FLK which was a bit of a pain because the original pattern not only had gussets but was written for 4 DPNs! Anyway, I got it after a good nights sleep.

One down, one to go.

Rainbow blanket

A friend of mine has this gorgeous blanket. I thought I'd take my chances with the Neat Ripple again and try to make one myself. I haven't crocheted in a while but the baby will be here in about 5 weeks so I best get cracking!

Spot Check socks

I was inspired by a friend's Spot Check socks so much that I had to copy her. The only difference is that I changed to the FLK heel which seems to be a standard for me :) What a warm pair of socks!

Fireweed socks

I've been drooling over these Fireweed socks for ages. So I thought I'd throw caution to the wind and give it a go. I wasn't sure how they would fit being 72st instead of my usual 64st. Also the colourwork didn't look very even prior to blocking. But low and behold...they turned out pretty good. I'm quite proud of them :)

Handknit socks

Some might say I have a problem :)

BlueSand Cardigan FINISHED!

BlueSand Cardigan

When I first saw this pattern, I knew I had to make it. So I went rummaging through my stash and decided on Maus Jung, 47ag and Zarte Knospe Wollmeise DK. The pattern was very interesting with something going on all the time. And the details were amazing. I especially love the icord bind off. I decided to make the 37" for my post-pregnancy body but it fits even now. Granted it's more of a fitted cardigan now, but it'll be nice and oversize and comfy later!

Boys quilts

, originally uploaded by stitch-by-stitch.

I promised the boys that I would make them some Dr Seuss quilts for summer. Well, summer is officially over in Melbourne, but I'm almost done. That counts, right?

Honeybee for pregnant me

And finally my Honeybee is finished. A size 42.5" (instead of my 37" usual self) to fit a pregnant me. The sleeves are a bit tight but not too tight. I should remember to go up a needle size for sleeves. I'm a notoriously tight sleeve knitter.

I love this. It's going to be great for when the weather cools down. The icord neckline was a tedious event but well worth it. The size is large enough not to distort the honeybees. This will be passed to my mum when I have the baby in May.

Oh and of course it was made out of Wollmeise in Petit Poison Nr 5 Medium.

Spot Check

I saw these and HAD to make a pair. Well, my version of the pair anyway. I used WD Sultan and Schwarz Wollmeise. I think they're very effective :) One down. One to go!

Friday's delivery

, originally uploaded by stitch-by-stitch.
I was asked to make a beanie and a cowl for a friend of mine. It was nearly impossible to get this Mal Worsted in Natural. Lucky for me Jimmy Beans has a "back in stock" notification system. I nabbed them as soon as they came up. I of course had to maximise postage costs :)

Wednesday's delivery

, originally uploaded by stitch-by-stitch.
I wanted to get some sockweight cotton to make a pair of Comfort Slippers. These were too cheap to go past. And as a bonus she had some Tosh Vintage in Clematis up for destash at a VERY good price, so I chucked that in too :)

Wollmeise WD Maria's Deepest Purple from a destash. So pretty!
