Lanesplitter

Lanesplitter, originally uploaded by stitch-by-stitch.

Finished!! After a false start with the waistband, I finally got something to work. I quite like the finished result. Paired with these cheapo tights and my cheapo boots, I think it looks quite fetching. 'scuse the no make up and greasy hair! :)

Well, here she is. My Tea With Jam and Bread. Finished. So warm and cozy just in time for the cooler Melbourne weather. I love have the Wollmeise DK feels. So soft and squishy.

Maus Jung DK

Maus Jung DK, originally uploaded by stitch-by-stitch.

You know how you have your "holy grail" yarns that you reeeeeally want. Well, this is one of them for me. It came up in an update one Friday evening, but I wasn't logged in. So by the time I got around to it, it was all gone.

Low and behold, someone took pity on me after scoring her own "holy grail" of Mont Blanc, and sold me her Maus Jung. It goes to show that beauty really is in the eye of the beholder. I think this is GLORIOUS!!

Now for me to get my hands on some Ooohm DK...

Lanesplitter

I've had Lanesplitter in my queue for some time now. But inspiration struck, so I rushed off to Sunspun to buy me some Noro Kureyon. I can't on that day. I'm about 3/4 of the way done (I've knit more since this pic). I'm doing the seamless version as per paulasulli.

When I first did the math I came up with 130 stitches. As I knit along I could quickly see that there waaaay too many stitches. So I ripped it out and just guessed at 100 stitches. Sooo much better. Now that I'm almost done, I can see that it'll sit just about the knee. Perfect! Can't wait to kitchener it together and see what it looks like!

I Heart Cables

I Heart Cables, originally uploaded by stitch-by-stitch.

Doesn't this tiny thing make your heart melt? It was obviously a super fast knit using less than half a skein of Cascade 220. Even with that pom pom! Hopefully baby Tia can get some wear out of it as the weather cools.

Tea with Jam and Bread

Tea with Jam and Bread, originally uploaded by stitch-by-stitch.
You know when inspiration hits. You just HAVE to have one. Exactly the same. Right now? Well that happened to me. I saw a version of this "Tea with Jam and Bread" and I had to have one. NOW. I just so happened to have the colours in Wollmeise DK in my stash. So on the needles they went. I'm loving how it's fitting so far. Soooo cozy and oversized. Though I wished the neck was wider...more boatneck. Might have to try to fix that with blocking.
