Lace Ribbon Scarf

Lace Ribbon Scarf, originally uploaded by stitch-by-stitch.

Another one is finally here! This one is the Lace Ribbon Scarf in Malabrigo Yarn Worsted Polar Morn.

In exchange for Vonraveller's knitting services, I provided her with Malabrigo Yarn Sock in Impressionist Sky. Again, another fantastic swap. I've also sent her another job to knit me a Baktus with Eki Riva Supreme Superbaby in Grey and Black. Payment is 2 skeins of the grey.

Noro Scarf

Noro Scarf, originally uploaded by stitch-by-stitch.

It's finally here! There is a group on Ravelry called 'Will Work For Yarn'. It's for all those knitting lovers who are unable to afford the good stuff, so they offer their knitting service in exchange for yarn. I bought this yarn after scouring the internet for days for the exact colours as in the original 'pattern'. It's not a pattern as much as a recipe.

In exchange for 27gab's knitting services, I provided her with 2 skeins of Noro Sock. I think it was a fantastic swap. And I love the end result. I've just sent her another job to knit me a pair of Kai-Mei socks in exchange for one skein of Malabrigo Sock and a Cookie A sock pattern called Zanzibar. What a great way to destash my overflowing stash and get that knitting queue down!

Charity quilt

Charity quilt, originally uploaded by stitch-by-stitch.

I've finally finished the quilt I made for a charity auction. It's using the crazy 9 patch tutorial. It's really cute and I think it's gender neutral. I quilted it using loopy loops in honour of the bee fabric and it worked out quite well :)

Burberry Cowl and Felicity Hat

Here is the completed Burberry Cowl and Felicity Hat set. I made them on request of my friend Alanna. Shame I don't get to keep these ones, they are so comfy and warm!! And I love the olive colour. I used Malabrigo Worsted in Olive.

Sottopassaggio #3

Sottopassaggio #3, originally uploaded by stitch-by-stitch.

I finished my Sottopassaggio socks (III) in exchange for my PJ pants. I hope they fit her. I had to use slightly thicker yarn and one size larger needles to try to get a size 10. I'm a size 9 and they are too big for me so I might have hit the nail on the head! I hope you like them Jo x

Top row

Top row, originally uploaded by stitch-by-stitch.

Here is my first row for my Supernova Quilt. What do you think? I had a bit of trouble matching up all of my seams but I'm still proud of it considering I'm a newbie at this sort of piecing. Also the blue stripes and the green/yellow ovals weren't oriented correctly. Shhh :)

'Boylove' sites stealing photos

A bloggy friend of mine, Monkeys In My Pocket, recently checked her stats on Blogger and noticed that a boylove site had taken pictures from her Blog and put it on their sickening pedophile website. That is disgusting and I cannot believe it happens. I have innocently uploaded lots of pics of my 2 babies and have now gone through my blogger and Facebook and deleted every one that I can. I have asked my friends to delete any pics of my kids they have on their sites/albums. You might want to check your stats too and take off any pics of your gorgeous children.

DISGUSTING!!!

Today...

...I caught up with my pretty much one and only crafty friend, Kate. Thanks for a lovely morning, Kate :) We always manage to talk so animatedly about all the things we are doing and new things we want to try etc. I love that I have someone I can talk like that with. None of my other friends are so inclined.

She asked me to help her with a new knitting technique/stitch called Veil Stitch. It is to make a Long [And Winding] Mesh Cowl. She bought a skein of Wollmeise 100% off me in Kornblume. A gorgeous rich shade of royal blue. After a bit of searching, this is the only illustrated instruction that I could find for the stitch. I'll be interested to see how you're coming along, Kate.

Meanwhile, on my cutting table is the beginnings of the Crazy 9 Patch quilt I'm making for a charity silent auction. Not sure how long it'll take me to complete this with a demanding 3 yr old and an even more demanding 2 mth old.

Charity quilt

A friend asked me if I'd like to donate to a charity she is organising a Gala Ball for. www.jdrf.org.au/. I of course obliged and was thinking of a quilt using these. Maybe a Crazy 9 patch like my Tickled Pink quilt. It'll be quick and easy and gender neutral.

Cutting cutting cutting, originally uploaded by stitch-by-stitch.

This is what I'm up to this Sunday afternoon. Cutting all my fabrics for the Supernova quilt along...now finished and bagged. Next off the list is to piece it all together. Maybe next weekend?
